    What is linen?

Linen is a hard-wearing natural fibre made from the flax plant. It has a unique ability to wick away moisture, keep you cool and let your skin breathe. This makes linen the perfect summer material, ideal for linen bedding, airy linen trousers or casual shirts. This relaxed character is also reflected in its surface texture, which gives linen its distinctive look.

    A linen look for summer

Summer linen outfits thrive on their relaxed feel. The breathable fabric drapes beautifully without feeling restrictive. Flowing blouses or dresses, wide-leg trousers, and casually cut shirts or other tops work perfectly. Long sleeves and legs are ideal for linen to effectively combat heat and perspiration. For a relaxed look, you can roll up the sleeves or hems slightly and enjoy the natural cooling effect of linen!

How to style linen: bring on the summer colours!

Linen fibres absorb colour in a unique way, always resulting in a natural look. This even works for classic non-summer colours like black. However, linen looks its best in light shades from cream to yellow, which also helps the fabric to reflect the sun's rays. When it comes to accessories and shoes, the more summery, the better. Straw bags and hats, sandals or canvas slippers – as long as they're light and airy!

Caring for your linen: a gentle touch is best

Linen is a hard-wearing fabric, but it's best to treat it with care. Opt for low temperatures, a delicate wash cycle and a low spin speed (no more than 600 rpm). Make sure there's plenty of room in the drum and use a liquid detergent for delicates, but avoid fabric softeners. To prevent your linen from creasing too much, you can iron the fabric while it's still damp. Alternatively, hang the garment on a hanger to dry. Tumble drying is a definite no-go!
